The UAE National Day is a symbol of the long road to independence and the formation of a powerful state. This holiday is celebrated annually on December 2 to highlight the unity, freedom, and prosperity that have become part of the country's modern history.
In 1971, the rulers of six emirates joined forces and concluded an agreement to create the United Arab Emirates. A year later, they were joined by a seventh emirate, Ras Al Khaimah. This sovereign union transformed the desert into an economically developed and prosperous country.
On National Day, the streets of the Emirates will be decorated with thousands of national flags, symbolising the spirit of freedom and pride. Locals and tourists will actively participate in a variety of festive events, going to exhibitions, riding rides, and participating in competitions and boat races.
